Noise Marines

As I am not a huge fan of the current Chaos Space Marine models, I have decided that I will use the Chosen models from the Dark Vengeance set as Noise Marines. I don't plan to field Chosen so these models would have otherwise gone to waste. This is how they are looking so far:

For my close combat squad/s I am using a wide variety of parts, mostly from the possessed and Raptors kits. I am almost done painting my first batch so I will post a picture within the next few days. You can see the silouette of my standard bearer in the background

1,000 pt Emperors Children Warband

I am working on a couple of lists at the moment but this is my 1,000 point Chaos Space Marine list

HQ:
Lucius

Elites:
Helbrute

Troops:
Noise Marine close combat squad x6 (Rhino)
Noise Marine sonic weapon squad x6 (Rhino)
Slaanesh Cultists x20

Fast Attack:
Spawn x2

Heavy:
Maulerfiend

The idea is that the list mixes more expendable units to draw fire or to hold objectives, with some very hard hitting units.

I am also considering what I will use a spawn. The current models are okay but I was already considering Reaper's Mastema demon as 'count-as' Fiends. So I am thinking that in the meantime I will use them as Chaos Spawn. I will probably modify it slightly adding a long tongue like on the Seekers of Slaanesh models and maybe some tentacles coming out of its back. Mostly I just think that it is a beautiful model that will fit right into any Slaanesh themed army. Add some wings and it could even work as a daemon Prince

Terrain Project: First Building Complete

I just completed my first ruin for my children’s playground. I am very happy with how the bullet holes turned out in particular. I could not find a descent tutorial on how to paint them so I just ended up using a photo reference. I am currently working on a much larger and more detailed building that I am really looking foward to applying the same painting techniques to.

troubleshooting help

I am the first to admit that I am not particularly tech savvy. I am wondering if anyone knows how to remove the text/link that is covering top photo. I have no idea where it came from or how to remove it

INQ28mm, Cultists, Rumours and Wishlisting

There are a few rumours circulating the internet that GW may be intending on releasing a 28mm Inquisitor skirmish game. However, no details have arisen on what this game may actually look like or even anything solid that it exists at all (some say GW will release Bloodbowl instead). This would be a very smart move on the part of GW giving them an inroad into the already very substantial skirmish wargaming market.

I love Necromunda (I used to play Delaque back in the late 90s) and have wished for some sort of marriage between it with the Inquisitor game at 28mm scale. One possibility that neither game explored was cults. Imagine an inquisitor and his retinue facing off against Chaos cultists or even a Genestealer cult. Now this approach could also fill some pretty serious gaps in WH40k while creating a lot of diversity within the skirmish game itself. Cultists have become a major feature in a lot of 40k lists for their ability to hold objectives and for their use as meat shields. And yet they are seriously underrepresented in terms of models. In order to field them you a forced to purchase the Dark Vengeance box set (x20 Cultists) and then if you want more you have to purchase a few Chaos Cultist box sets (x5 cultists each). But if you are like me, you want cultists that better fit your army's theme of which the current models don't work so well. I have long searched the internet in vain for ideas on what I could use as alternative to the standard cultist models. Possibly the closest would be to give Daemonettes guns but I think that would blaspheme against Slaanesh (if such a thing is even possible). So here's hoping that in the not too distant future we will see some more inspiring cultist models being released by GW.

I should also mention that there are also rumours that the Gods of Chaos will be getting the supplement treatment, with a possibility of Cult Terminators and even new greater daemons in the works.

Noise Marine

I just discovered this. I have no idea who created it but it is a great representation of a Noise Marine, particularly in the use of colours, I am tempted to try a similar effect on my models.
