It seems that our prayers have finally been answered. I think I still like the GW sonic weapons better, but it will be nice to mix them up a bit. The heads in particuler are great. I am going to have to get serious about green stuff before I purchase any of these as I think that the sonic weapons need the screaming faces of the front, plus they could do with some chaos iconography to update them to 40k.

Dark Elves Coming October

It is rumoured that Dark Elves will be getting a major update next month. I a quite excited to hear that GW will be releasing lots of new plastic kits.

But how is this relevant to one who collects a WH40k Slaanesh army you may ask?

There are two main reasons:

When I first got back into the hobby I had not decided if I wanted to collect fantasy or 40k models, but I did know that my devotion was to Slaanesh. At the time I was seriously considering starting a Dark Elf Pleasure Cult. But I was put off by the lack of supporting rules and that the Dark Elf models weren't all that great. The only models I really wanted to paint where the Cold One Knights, but these wouldn't have fit with the army's theme. Then Dark Vengeance came out and I started getting all excited about Chaos Space Marines allied with Slaanesh daemons. So with this re release, we may yet see the return of pleasure cults.

Now the second reason I am excited is because I am always on the lookout for models to convert into Chaos Cultists.  The current witch elf models look very dated, but they are possibly the closest thing available for the vision I have in mind for Slaanesh cultists. So I am really looking forward to seeing the new models in the hope there will be something that I can use.
